Wi-Fi QR code FAQ
- Which phones can join Wi-Fi from a QR code?
- Every iPhone running iOS 11+ and every Android running 10+ can join a Wi-Fi network by pointing the camera at a QR code — no app required. Older phones may need a free QR reader app.
- Is it safe to print my Wi-Fi password as a QR code?
- The QR code is literally a printed copy of the password. Fine for a café guest network; not fine for your corporate admin network. Use a dedicated guest VLAN with its own password if you're posting the code publicly.
- Does it work if my SSID is hidden?
- Yes. Tick "Hidden network" when generating — the QR will include the hidden flag so the scanning phone knows to look for the SSID instead of waiting for it to broadcast.
