Text QR code FAQ
- How much text can I fit in one QR code?
- Around 2,953 characters at error-correction L (the most permissive level) — but bigger payloads make a denser code that needs more print area to scan. For more than ~500 characters consider linking to a URL instead.
- Will the phone open a link if I include 'https://' in the text?
- Most phones detect URL-shaped strings and offer to open them, even if the QR is plain-text. If you need guaranteed URL-handling, use the URL QR type instead — it sets the URL scheme explicitly.
